3 Voices Plus
As well as our resident poets, storytellers and musicians, we have not one, not two, but three Special Guest acts at our March gig.
“Strangers in Town” duo Nigel Catley and John Girtchen will be getting us in the groove with a selection of their acoustic Roots/Blues/Folk covers.
A first for 3V: four members of the Hull Handbells Project, John Atkinson, Heather Peachey, Christopher Munday and Peter Church will give a demonstration of change ringing on musical handbells.
To top it all, another first. We’re delighted to have award-winning harpist, Ruth Lee, as our guest. Interested in mythology, nature and anthropology, Ruth explores acoustic and electro-acoustic sound-worlds, often fusing contemporary, classical and folk styles.
Ruth is Winner of the Sioned Williams Harp Prize at the United Kingdom Harp Competition, the Iain Macleòid Young Composer Award at the Edinburgh International Harp Festival and the Wales International Harp Festival Competition for Composition.
