Sax on Sunday – Snake Davis & Chris Bannister

Chris Bannister is a singer-songwriter-guitarist of immense talent and class. The two met when Chris was invited to play an opening set on a Heather Small tour some years ago. They bonded immediately, socially and musically. Various collaborations followed, including in Snake’s ‘Classic Sax Solos’ show, but 2019 saw their first performance as a duo. Like Snake, Chris’s influences are broad- folk, pop, soul, country and more..

Snake is the sax-man on the hits by M-People and Lisa Stansfield and played the iconic opening riff on ‘A Million Love Songs’. His soulful sound has been heard with many great artists, from McCartney to The Eurythmics, Klingande to Calvin Harris.

This promises to be an evening of rare quality.  Whether it is showcasing the exceptional talent of this singer-songwriter with his self-penned collection of songs, his covers of much-loved classics or undiscovered folk songs or his simply stunning tribute to the music of John Denver, it is easy to see how Chris gained an international reputation which has delighted fans for over two decades.

Snake is completely at home weaving artfully around Chris’s vocals, then there are sax instrumentals interspersed with the vocals.

Expect an exhilarating and varied set of wonderful songs, presented with intimacy in a duo setting.
