Good Habits – Folk Fusion

One of the most exciting new folk duos to come out of the UK, Good Habits’ award-winning, genre-fusing sound has received international critical acclaim in the short 3 years they have been performing with standout performances at Glastonbury, WOMAD NZ, Port Fairy Folk Festival (Aus), and Cambridge Folk Festival. “musicianship at its 21st century best” – Tom Robinson, BBC Radio 6 Music

Composed of Bonnie Schwarz (cello + vocals) and Pete Shaw (accordion), the pair mix virtuosic musicianship and vocal harmony with vivid storytelling, drawing on their diverse musical tastes and weaving them into an action-packed narrative of folky goodness. They spent the pandemic years ‘happily stranded’ in Aotearoa where they non stop, including performances at the country’s biggest festivals: Cuba Dupa, NZ Festival of Lights, and Auckland Folk Festival. Their “captivating” (Songlines) debut album, “Going For Broke”, received glowing international coverage with FRUK describing their breath-taking live shows as “impossible to resist”.

Amanda Palmer (Dresden Dolls) says “Good habits wrap darkly witty lyrics in a delightfully old-world package that crash together the timeless sounds of cellos and accordions with knowing and warm vocals that make you want to wrap this little duo band around you like an old blanket.”

“A captivating set of highly original songs… there’s rare emotional warmth and fullness to Good Habits’ sound.’’– Songlines (★★★★)
